Senior Journalist and Humanitarian Sohel Sarkar Elected President of International Human Rights Organization in Tangail

By Our Correspondent:- Mr. Arifuzzaman Sohel Sarkar, a senior journalist and renowned humanitarian, has been elected as the President/Chairman of the Tangail district branch of the United Nations-affiliated International Human Rights Organization. Simultaneously, he has also been appointed as a permanent member of the organization’s central committee.

Experts and associates see his election not merely as a responsibility but as a recognition of his long-standing contributions and relentless efforts in the fields of human rights and public service. The news has brought immense joy and pride among journalists, political and social leaders, and the general public in Tangail.

Mr. Arifuzzaman Sohel Sarkar is a well-known senior journalist. He is the son of the late A. Mannan (Bhola Chairman), a thrice-elected chairman of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) and a former Union Parishad chairman. Upholding a family legacy of honesty, responsibility, and dedication to humanitarian service, he has devoted himself for many years to journalism and social service.

Currently, he serves as a permanent member of the Bangladesh Central Press Club (B.C.P.C). Alongside journalism, he has been a strong advocate for human rights, addressing social injustices, and safeguarding the rights of the underprivileged. His pioneering role in social and humanitarian initiatives has earned widespread appreciation.

After his election as President, he stated that his commitment will be to protect human rights, ensure justice, and work for the welfare of the helpless and oppressed members of society.

Beyond organizational responsibilities, Sohel Sarkar is also known for his personal humanitarian efforts. He regularly assists the poor, helpless, and underprivileged in his community.
